There are several Motor Sport Champion ships in Korea, but the most famous Championship is ‘Super Race’. It has been almost 10 years since 2006, Three main categories based on displacement.

First class is ‘Super 6000’. It is unique race in Asia, Same regulation as NASCA stock cars has according to Wikipedia. Main sponsor is General Motors, all racing cars using Cadillac ATS-V body, V8 6.2L engine and Carbon pipe frame chassis (1.140kg curb weigh)

Next is GT, Grand Touring class. It is main racing of the Super Race, there is limited restriction for racing car, from 1.6L to 6.0L, all kind of serial cars is allowed to run. To make the race fun, Handicap regulation applied, minimum curb weigh based on engine performance (ex. 1,100kg by 250hp, 1,300kg by 350hp). From 2017, GT class is separated to GT1 and GT2, you might see variety battles in those races.

Mostly, Hyundai Genesis coupe are chosen, reasonable performance, Korean brand, easy to get technical data, but few other teams are running different brand, such as Team Chevrolet. Two Cruze sedans are modified to racing cars, they won season champion 5 times since 2007.In 2017, Chevrolet team introduce new racing car based on All-new Cruze, it is the second Cruze race car (First launch was TC Super 200 Championship in Argentina)

Last one is ‘Super 1600’ This class is organized for specially for rookies, Maxium RPM is not allowed over 7,000 RPM. Part upgrade is highly restricted, so that racing teams can manage low cost budget, are encouraged to take part more racing cars

Because it is entry class of the motor sports, you can meet small size sedan mainly produced by Korean OEM, Hyundai and Kia. K3, Pride and Hyundai Veloster, Elantra participant the racing.

It is not main stream event but also two kind of One make racing there, one for Hyundai Accent and the other for Chevrolet Cuze. Both of them are using Diesel engine
